hey guys.
I have a Motorola Q9M running Windows Mobile 6 with mobile speak 2.0. I've had my phone for quite some time, 5 years.
I'm wondering does anyone know of any way that I could make my battery life better? my battery will go from 100% to25 in minutes, when I don't touch my phone for some time and leave it on, low battery will just pop up. I dont use thephone for anything but talking and texting Does windows mobile have any background processes that are battery killers, and if so, how do I terminate them? I don't use bluetooth or anything like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

Probably time to get a new battery. Try that if you can find one for your phone. After using they start to not hold a charge.

Ive gotten a new batterie for it, and it's a bit better, but it still happens every once in a while. I am starting to think that the code factory speech eats alot of power

I don't know about your phone, but I have an old T-Mobile Dash. Wireless or Bluetooth being on will drain the battery in minutes.
Also if you know how to get to the Mobile Speak task switcher home, 2, or home, e then quit all apps, some tasks like ActiveSync (loves to come up in background on Windows Mobile 6.x) will help give you more memory and possibly conserve battery also.
To quit all apps from within the Mobile speak task manager I push the right soft key then the number 3 or letter r for the third option in the menu and it will close all the background processes. Also when I'm done with an app like text message or whatever I use home, q to force quit the app and free up memory.
You'll have to see what works on your particular phone though. Everything on Windows Mobile is just so slow! Even the wife's cheap Samsung loads the phone book or text messages faster. I don't remember which, it's one of the T-Mobile cheap phones. But anyway part of what we're dealing with is Windows Mobile.

You may also want to look into whether the phone's water damaged. I've heard that that could cause the battery to drain pretty fast too.

For me and anyone that has my same phone, you press home key, then the number two. Mobile speak will say, select the application you want to switch to. Press the right soft key, a menu will come up, select stop all stop all. I actually just discovered this.
